The plots are located halfway up the hill supporting the town of Saint-Émilion, about 2 km from the summit. Soil: predominantly sandy with a deep clay-limestone subsoil: it gives these plots a certain precocity that allows the harvest at optimal maturity whatever the year.
The parcels producing this appellation are located on the commune of Lalande de Pomerol. The gravelly soils allow to obtain a good maturity because they are allied to a silica-clay subsoil in which the roots of the vine can draw the freshness in dry year.
